Solution 3: The highly capable HR Generalist who could benefit from a mentor to move to the "next level" of performance.
Brian is a seasoned HR Generalist who does a very good job with traditional HR functions such as benefits, employee relations and some hiring. His firm is expecting rapid growth and wants to prepare Brian for an HR Manager position. He is a strong performer who needs to gain experience with project management, training development and delivery and current HR/OD practices.
Brian is currently tasked with creating a performance system and related training program for employees and managers. He is invited to a management-level meeting to discuss how HR can best add value to the firm in the future through better sourcing, hiring, training, performance management, etc. Brian's time and resources are limited, but with a strong coach and support with some of the heavy lifting, Brian will grow and be able to execute many of his own projects in the future.
